The City & Guilds National Skill Assessment
and Qualification Scheme for the Saddlery Trade is the recognised
qualification within the trade.
Any Candidates successfully assessed at Levels
2 & 3 are demonstrating their ability to produce quality products
at a commercial rate.
Part of the assessment is carried out at
an approved centre and involves producing a pre-determined article
in a timed assessment, overseen by assessors appointed independently
by City & Guilds.
In order to achieve the standard in the required time, Candidates
must be given the necessary time and materials to become proficient
and should not be registered with City & Guilds for the assessment
until deemed ready.
The Saddlery Training Centre is an approved
centre for The City & Guilds National Skill Assessment and Qualification
Scheme for the Saddlery Trade.
Candidates are able to attend preparatory
courses for City & Guilds Skill Assessments.
The gaining of these qualifications is a requirement for membership
of The Society of Master Saddlers.
Many small firms find benefits in achieving this, gaining recognition
for both their own skill and the business's reputation.
The Saddlery Training Centre is able to advise
on the necessary standard for attaining qualifications and to help
candidates prepare themselves for assessments.
